Oak Wilt is a serious and potentially fatal disease that affects red oak trees (northern red, Shumard Oak, Pin Oak) particularly . Fall is the ideal time to treat for Oak Wilt, as injectable fungicides are most effective when the tree still has its leaves. If left untreated, the disease can spread quickly in the spring, killing the tree before you have a chance to intervene. By treating in the fall, you ensure the fungicide is absorbed and in place to prevent the disease’s early spring movement, keeping your oak tree safe for the coming year.
